Online Storytime Resources

Hey kids, we miss you and your smiling faces!  Our QLDC Librarians are working on some fun digital projects for you, but in the meantime we wanted to share some cool things that we’ve found.

There are heaps of authors, actors, and artists showing their love for the children of the world!

Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems!

Mo Willems, the creator of Elephant and Piggie, is the Kennedy Center Education Artist-in-Residence and is inviting you into his home for "Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems!"

Dav Pilkey at Home

In collaboration with the Library of Congress, Dav Pilkey, author of the very entertaining “Captain Underpants” and “Dog Man” series, is hosting a video series of pure silliness.

Stay At Home Story Time with Oliver Jeffers

Oliver Jeffers, author and illustrator of “The Day the Crayons Quit” among others, is reading one of his books each weekday.

Josh Gad

The beloved voice of Olaf, Josh Gad, has created the #joshgadbookclub and is reading a book a day live on Twitter.  “Frozen” fans will love it!

Storyline Online

Actors from the Screen Actors Guild have been reading children's books for years on Storyline Online.  Parents will appreciate seeing their favourite actors reading a myriad of different books.  With suggested grade levels and an activity guide created by a credentialed educator, you are sure to have fun!

#OperationStoryTime

There are so many people doing such amazing things.  Use Twitter, Facebook or Instagram and search for the hashtag #OperationStoryTime - you will find most participating children’s book authors, illustrators and actors there.  Social media, eh?  Makes things so easy sometimes!

Take care, stay home and see you soon!
