Your membership ID gives you access to our digital eResources anytime, anywhere.

How do I find out my pin/password?

You can choose your pin/password when you register online or at the library. If you have forgotten your pin/password, email us or use the online Forgot PIN option. You can change your pin/password at any time by logging into My Account.

How many eBooks and eAudiobooks can I borrow and for how long?

  • Borrowbox - 6 eBooks, 6 eAudiobooks, and 6 eMagazines; 2 week loans
  • South Island Downloadable Zone - 5 titles; choose between 1, 2 or 3 week loans

Can I renew, reserve and return eBooks and eAudiobooks early?

Yes, you can renew provided there are no holds. Reserves are notified by email. In most cases you can return items early via My Account. Some items may only be returned within the app.

What devices can I use to read eBooks and eAudiobooks?

You can download to your PC or MAC and read eBooks with Adobe Digital Editions, and on most eReaders aside from a Kindle. The mobile apps (Borrowbox and Libby) work with most Android and iOS devices for eBooks and eAudiobooks.

Note: if you are used to listening to Libby audiobooks on your MP3 device via your Mac desktop, MP3 audiobooks are only supported on macOS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) through 10.14 (Mojave). If you upgrade your MacOS to the new release then you can still listen in your browser, or install the Libby app.

Can I create lists of books that I have read or would like to read?

Check out this blog for some simple steps on how to create lists in your library account.
