The Queenstown Historical Society collates historical resources from the Wakatipu and beyond, and offers digital access the Queenstown Courier magazine.

Queenstown Library History
In May 1971, to coincide with the opening of the Malaghan Library, The Queenstown Courier published a special library edition of their publication detailing the history of the library in Queenstown.

The Upper Clutha Historical Records Society
The Upper Clutha Historical Records Society preserves the records that make up the history of the Wānaka and Upper Clutha area. These records include photographs, diaries, minute books, station records, maps, newspaper clippings, family histories, Upper Clutha Pioneer Family Register and cemetery records. These are all held in a specially built fireproof room at the Wānaka Library. Records can be accessed by contacting the Society.

Southern Regional News Index
The Southern Regional News Index contains 250,000 records dated from 1993 onwards from a number of newspapers and magazines. Other periods have also been indexed, including the 1850s and the 1930s-40s, and relate to Dunedin, Otago and Southland events and people.
