Loanable Kits

We now have Loanable Litter Kits!

If you would like to organize your own litter walk, check out our loanable litter kits available at the Queenstown, Frankton and Wānaka Libraries. Each kit contains the necessary equipment to safely collect litter in our local environment.

Each kit contains:

  • 1 x pick up tool
  • 1 x high visibility vest
  • 1 x pair cut resistant gloves
  • 1 x reusable bag
  • 1 x bin clip

Important information

How long can I loan the kit for?

Each kit is loaned for a period of one week, loans can be extended where there are no holds on the item. Renew your items using the library app, you can also pop in or give us a call.

What should I do with the rubbish collected?

Litter can be disposed of along with household waste or at your local transfer station. A list of local transfer stations can be found here but please note, a fee will apply for the disposal of rubbish through the stations.

  • Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
  • Avoid sewage, needles, and broken glass.
  • Try not to disturb wildlife.
  • Borrowers are responsible for the kits whilst they are on loan, including any loss, theft, or damage. We do understand that things happen, so in any instance, please let us know.
