Books!
These sportspeople all have biographies, and the Festival of Sport in Wānaka was a fantastic place to showcase these directly to our sporty community members.
Our budding Community Engagement Librarians Alice and myself tagged along to support the Festival with a selection of sporting Books available for checkout.
We had plenty of great conversations about favourite sports books and biographies. A standout story was with a young 10-year-old who to our surprise had read (with his mum) most of the books on display! He was a keen sportsman and was only interested in reading sports books. Of course, we fully supported this and were lucky enough to have Shane Warne’s book ready to check out – one of the few he hadn’t read! Another happy customer at another successful event.
