The kids have been busy @ QLDC Libraries

We've had so many fun initiatives running across the Queenstown Lakes Libraries over the past few months that we wanted to share some highlights with you! And let you know what we have coming up for the School Holidays and in Term 3.

First off, we’ve had four new children focused library assistants join our Arrowtown, Hawea and Frankton -  Welcome to the Team!  They’ve slotted right in and are familiar faces by now.

We had our amazing Summer Reading Challenge which resulted in eight gorgeous bookmarks designed by local school children - Congratulations to the winners!

Arrowtown and Hawea library started offering Wriggle and Rhyme, a perfect opportunity for little ones to have fun with body movement and music.

Arrowtown has started LEGO ™ Club, with Hawea soon to follow in Term 3.

Libraries across the district supported inclusiveness and anti-bullying during Pink Shirt Day and had a magically wonderful time during the Harry Potter Quiz.

Parents were treated to a special discussion about Dyslexia with Chris Cole from Learning Differences Southland and Sign Language Taster sessions – learning about our beautiful brains.

We had fun at Pyjama Parties with Teddy Bear sleepovers and had special Matariki storytimes with Matua Darren.

Our upcoming School Holiday Programme is find out more what is happening and where here

And in Term 3, Arrowtown and Hawea are starting Reading to Dogs!

You may have also see our amazing children focused library assistants out and about at our local early childhood education centres, nurseries and preschools!  We also visit our Playcentres and Plunkets for special storytimes

Remember, we are all about the books, and more.

Pop in to say hi and see what’s on offer!
