QLDC Libraries across the district are celebrating World Book Day 2022 with a series of local author talks. Meet writers from a variety of genres as they share their work, inspiration and ideas.

Laura Shallcrass is an award-winning illustrator and author of Hare & Ruru and What Colour is the Sky?

Helen Scheuerer is the author of the bestselling young adult fantasy series The Oremere Chronicles and the Curse of the Cyren Queen quartet.

Fiona Sussman is a novelist and short-story writer. Her Book Addressed to Greta won the NZ Booklovers Award for Best Adult Fiction in 2021.

Chrissy Wickes is a celebrated artist who helped compile Creative Conservation, a unique book that shares the message of conservation through art.

Margaret McHugh is a Southland-born chef whose autobiography, The Real McHugh, is a testimony to her culinary skills and her storytelling.
