Just because we are in lockdown, doesn’t mean that we can’t craft!!
One of our amazing kids' librarians, Lindsey, is sharing the craft that she had planned for her School Holiday Programme at Frankton Library!
Materials needed include cardboard, toilet paper rolls, scissors, tape, and paper - so you should have everything you need at home - even in lockdown!
You can use specialised implements, but if you don’t have everything listed, just improvise and do the best you can.
Here is the template that you will need to copy onto onto paper to help you with your craft!
If you like colouring in or paper crafts, check out this wonderful website...
... found by Becky, one of the coolest kids' librarians at Queenstown Library!
Becky says “This website is epic.”
And it is. At last count, there are 48, 281 downloadable resources including:
- Colouring in pages;
- Drawing tutorials;
- Puzzle games;
- Mazes, crosswords, dot-to-dots;
- Paper crafts, origami, printable 3D cut-out templates, mask templates, dress up paper dolls, etc., etc., etc.
You can browse or search by subject such as specific animals, TV shows, or books (the Harry Potter section is awesome!). Then you can print out the instructions, templates or colouring in pages as needed. You can even choose to colour online!
And finally, for the budding Spielberg or Lego lover, here are two great apps to help you make stunning stop motion movies, just like in the old days! They're both free and easy to use!
